FAQ
- Sails
Q: I don't see the sail I am looking for listed by boat type, do
you have it?
A: If you don't see the sail you want listed by boat type then we
have not done the research on that specific combination of boat
and sail. First follow the measuring
guide to determine the dimensions of what you want. Then do a search
by sail size (search “Luff Range”) leaving boat type
on “all”.
Q: What if
I don’t know my dimensions, do you have it on file somewhere?
A: Same answer as above, If its not listed by boat then no. Please
follow the measuring
instructions.
Q: I see a
sail that I am interested in. Is it still in stock?
A: Usually it is. But inventory does change daily so please, only
call to verify availability if you are actually placing the order
immediately.
Q: Under the
condition
column the sail I am interested in says “New”, what
exactly does that mean?
A: Click on the column heading “Condition” for a description
of each condition code. If it says “new” then it is
brand new, first quality and under warranty. No tricks here. |
Q: I only see new sails listed when I do a search, how do I get
to see used sails?
A: When search results come up you see ALL sails both new and used
that are in inventory. If you don't see any used sails in the range
you are searching it’s because we don’t have any. This
happens a lot in small sails that are relatively inexpensive new.
The availability is quite limited.
Q: I didn’t
see the price listed... how much is it?
A: Scroll right to the column “Price” (its probably
just off your screen).
Q: I found
a sail I want listed for my boat. What happens if it doesn’t
fit?
A: Usually the boats we list are standardized. Occasionally boats
will vary. Particularly older, limited production models. If you
have any doubts please follow the measuring instructions and check
them against the published dimensions. Please see the Ordering
page for more detail about returns.
Q: What happens
if there is a problem and the sail won’t work for any reason?
A: Please see the Ordering
page for complete information about returns.
Q: My mainsail
has a different type of slide than what you list. Can it be changed?
A: Click on “Mainsail
Luff Type” for a description of this. We charge
$2 per foot for luff to change hardware. This applies to slides
on the foot as well. Min labor charge is $50.
Q: The manufacturer
listed is Pro/Stock. What does that mean?
A: Pro/Stock is our proprietary line. Click on the Manufacturer
heading for a description.

FAQ - Roller Furling
Q:
Which Roller Furler will work on my boat?
A: In most cases you’ll need to know the approx “pin
to pin” headstay length. Instructions are here: Ordering
information for roller furling units or packages Then
go to the chart in furling
systems to select the one that will fit.
Q: Do you have
a furling package for my boat?
A: We package furlers and sails at a discount for any boat. Just
select the furling
system you want (already at a great discount) and then
the sail you want and take 5% more off it’s price for your
package deal. Additionally you get 10% off any second sail purchased
at the same time.
Q: how do I
know which sail to get?
A: You will have to measure
the furler hoist and “J” dimension of your boat to determine
the sail dimensions that will fit. If the furling unit is not already
installed you can estimate which sail to buy by using the the “pin
to pin” headstay length and make the deduction from the chart
below to find the longest luff that fill fit your installation.
Then do a search by sail size (“luff range”).
